What's in a qualification?
BSc. (hons) - Bachelor of Science with honours. This means the podiatrist has attended a recognised School of Podiatry and has studied for at least 3 years in order to attain a degree in podiatric medicine.

MInstChP - Member of the Institute of
Podiatrists. The IOP is a long established professional body representing podiatrists and chiropodists. Podiatrist, podiatry, chiropody & chiropodist are protected terms that may only be legally used by those who have attended a recognised School of Podiatry. The IOP also provides public liability insurance.
HCPC - Health & Care Professional Council. All qualified podiatrists and chiropodists should be registered with the HCPC; you can check the register here. The HCPC regulates health and care professionals in the UK.
Felicity Burnell BSc. (hons) MRCPod
Podiatrist
I qualified from the University of Southampton in 2010.

I have extensive experience both within the NHS and private sector. Within the NHS, I specialised as a Community Diabetes Lead Podiatrist working in community clinics, the Churchill Hospital's diabetic foot clinic and domiciliary settings. I have previously had permanent roles within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and have locumed in Greenwich, Ealing, Kensington, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.
I waved goodbye to the NHS in June 2017 and provided private domiciliary treatment across Oxfordshire until July 2022. Since then, I have been offering expert foot care at Raleigh Park Clinic, Oxford. I no longer offer home visits.

Further study in dermoscopy & skin cancer, diabetes, rheumatology, biomechanics, kinesiology taping, casting techniques, acupuncture, sports massage, advanced toenail surgery techniques, x-ray and blood test interpretation, my previous life as a medical secretary and a further undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science (University of Southampton, 2007) means I have a broad knowledge base that I can apply to each consultation.

At Raleigh Park Clinic I am able to offer a wider scope of treatments. I am particularly interested in Falknor's needling for recalcitrant verruca. I'm passionate about keeping older people mobile so that they can maintain their independence.
I don't mean to boast (!) but I've helped to cure a LOT of fungal infections. There is so much misinformation out there on this subject. If you want to get your fungal skin and/or nail infections sorted once and for all, please get in touch!

Although I enjoy all aspects of the job, I have a particular talent for the painless* treatment of ingrowing (ingrown) toenails (both conservatively and surgically). I am an expert in the surgical removal of ingrowing (ingrown) toenails (a.k.a. partial and total nail avulsions) and even offer needle-free injections, but if toenail surgery not the right choice for you I have a plethora of alternative options we can explore.

I really enjoy a challenge - so if you've got 'problem feet', you've come to the right place!

* or at least significantly less painful than you may be expecting!
